Westlife To Release Another Greatest Hits Album05/09/2011 20:34
Westlife have announced plans to release another ‘best of’ album.
Simply titled Greatest Hits, the album will be released on 21 November on CD, a deluxe 2CD/DVD package and download formats.
The album is the first to be released by the Irish boyband since their split from Simon Cowell’s label Syco and it’s expected to include a number of newly-recorded tracks.
Confirming the news, the boys said: “It’s almost hard to believe that we’ve been doing this for as long as we have. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and are looking forward to releasing our Greatest Hits as a special thank you to our fans who have supported us throughout our career.”
Since the release of their last hits collection, Unbreakable – The Greatest Hits – Vol 1, back in 2002, the band have had 12 more Top 10 hits and recorded seven more albums, so it’s about time for another retrospective we think!
Before you dash off to pre-order your copy, here’s a few facts that you may or may not know about the band:
- They’ve had 14 No.1 singles and 7 No.1 albums.
- They’re the biggest selling arena act of all time in the UK and have played no less than 25 headline shows at London’s Wembley Arena.
- They’ve sold a staggering 44 million records worldwide. Impressive or what?
