IRISH pop group “Westlife” will visit Manila this September for a one-night concert at the Araneta Coliseum.
Composed of Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily, the pop group is behind music hits like “Swear It Again,” “If I Let You Go,” “Flying Without Wings,” “Fool Again,” “My Love,” “World of our Own,” “Queen of my Heart,” “Unbreakable”, and “When You’re Looking Like That.”
Since their debut in 1998, the boys have released 10 multi-platinum albums, had 14 number one hits in the UK alone and sold over 44 million albums worldwide.
Their cover songs, such as “Mandy”, “Uptown Girl,” and “Against All Odds (Take A Look at Me Now)” were also up in the music chart.
Aside from their multi-platinum studio albums, the group also had special releases: a Rat Pack-inspired album entitled “Allow Us to Be Frank,” and “The Love Album,” which consists of popular love song covers.
Westlife is currently promoting their eleventh album “Gravity” released in November 2010. They worked on the album with Grammy-award winning producer John Shanks, who has produced tracks for a number of musicians such as Kelly Clarkson, Alanis Morrisette, Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Backstreet Boys and Take That.
Westlife has toured around the world extensively, having ten official tours since the year 2000, with stops around Europe, Asia, South Africa, the Middle East and Australia. They are currently on their Gravity tour, with shows in Oman, United Arab Emirates, UK and Ireland.
